Headlines Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Headlines

'Oh, did you read,
The headlines today? '
The public was aghast,
With the news.

'Oh, did you read,
The headlines today? '
The public was delighted,
With the news.

The headlines read today,
About tornadoes, winds and lightning.
All the newspapers and stands,
Were whirling and shattering.

Today the newspapers weren't selling.
But the newspapers were telling,
Their story of that moment.
A story of environmental horror.
