Healing Shoulders Poem by Jared Bradford

Healing Shoulders

Ain't it funny?
How the world keeps spinnin'
Like it's in a damn race
But nobodys winnin'

Like a never-ending sprint
Running, Running, Race
Too bad we fail to see
We're just running in place.

The world will never stop
Just because you drop
I'm sure you all know this
But I just want to put it on notice

That
It's all so bittersweet
When you've got someone for keeps
But
I just hope you looked before you leaped

If you trip and fall
They'll call you weak
Try and prove them wrong
Here's that world
Let's see if your shoulders are strong

The road is long
And the race is never-ending
This is from the heart
So why does it feel like i'm pretending?

If you've never, taken a fall
You deserve an applause
A standing ovation
Your name will reach fame
And rein, but not precipitation

Ain't it funny
How we can 'have it all' in the world?
But down here on Earth,
What's 'it all' worth?

Hopefully
No. Yes. my shoulders will heal
From holding the weight of the world on my shoulders
Because I refused to kneel.
