Hear Me

I remember the loud noise of sirens going off one horrifying night
now I stand here in front of a stone carved with my name
I asked 'momma why is my name on that stone'
not one reply as I watched her walk away

Don't leave me here I screamed but everything was gone out of sight
I realized no one could see me and nothing was the same
Days passed and more and more I felt out of place and so alone
momma come back and love me just like you did everyday

Finally I found her and said please feel my presence see my sorrow
hear me cry and tell me I'm not gone
Hold my hand atleast pretend
wipe my tears even if I'm not there

Hold me tight through the night so I'll still be there tomorrow
Hear my thoughts I don't want to be alone
sit with me like before and promise you will always be my best friend
I don't understand why I'm invisible

Momma tell me why my name is on that stone
tell me why you left me
tell me why I suddenly screamed
then a tear rolled down her soft pale cheek

I'm sorry she said whispered I'm sorry your gone
she hit the floor onto her knees
she broke out into tears and I thought maybe its just a terrible dream
but it was all real and the way she cried left her unable to speak
