Heart Frozen Poem by Shannon Thompson

Heart Frozen

there was a flash of dark
instead of light
all nothing went bright

i knew
there was negative visibility
a black snow storm
it wasnt just in my mind

i knew
the window was locked
but i could feel you weren't there
you felt like ice

i knew
i heard the cold grey/blue sky
through the chill
of your eyes, deer

in the headlights
frozen solid
that's why i never moved

i knew
all along
i knew

I can feel the pain in your words. I love the emotion of something so real, put into such vague terms. It makes it more alive. A unique talent. Beautiful.
