Heart On My Sleeve Poem by Holly Jamestone

Heart On My Sleeve

Can’t get out of bed today
Water crying across the window, beads perspiring on the pane
Want to be staring at the amber tea simmering in my cup
Reminiscing of storms with happy endings
Where raindrops fled down the gutters and the sky smiled afterwards

A simple breath to calm the mind and still the senses
Breaking through the reality like a rainbow of life’s prism
Putting the years into perspective and grabbing the moment
But just in case, umbrella in hand and heart on my sleeve
If I could only get out of bed today
