Heartbreak Blues (Js) Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Heartbreak Blues (Js)

That you are.
A cute little heartbreaker.
Playing your game at your own leisure.
You stole my heart at first glance
And refuse to give it back.
I've chased you only for you
To walk the other direction.
I have better sense than to
Let you play me the way you do.
Although now you pretend
I don't exist.
I know you still linger
Watching in thought.
The many times I've caught you looking
When you thought I wasn't watching.
Deep down I desire it
You sexy heartbreaker you.
I miss the way we use to talk
Before you took my heart and ran the other way.
Before I gave you the impression
I don't like the games you play.
Before my silence became the cross street before trial and error.
If this were Halloween you'd be the devil
And I'll be damned if I wasn't the sinner.
If this was Christmas I'd be the child
And you'd be the present so neatly wrapped.
I'll be damned you cute heartbreaker you.
I'll be damned indeed.
Seeing your smile every time I close my eyes.
Insisting that I chase you once more.
That this time you'll promise you'll
Let me catch you.
How dare you lie to me like that.
Knowing I have better sense than that.
Soon as you run.
I'll chase right after you.
You sexy heartbreaker you.
I miss you
