Heartbreaks Poem by Felix Lee

Heartbreaks

Rating: 5.0

Heartbreaks, heartaches.
It hurts so badly to see you like this,
Can’t remember the time I
Last had a good night’s sleep.
My pain…
It may never compare to yours,
It may somehow be more than yours,
But it’s still the same.
Aching heart,
Tearing heart,
Heart wrenched forcefully,
Out of my chest.
Not your fault of course.
Never your fault.
You mustn’t misread.
You don’t even know
The thoughts of this
Self-centered, egoistic person.
You don’t even know of this…
Love?
Not love.
Friendship then?
Probably, but then,
I’d have no right,
No right to care
This deeply for you.
But I still do.
And I am confused.
Love and friendship does prevail
When the lovers and friends
Have good times together.
In times of need,
Friendships may falter,
But not so deeply,
And anyway,
I’d always want to be there
For you.
But later,
Later what?
I still care,
But,
So afraid,
So afraid,
That I may, heaven forbid,
Forget about why I am doing this.
That you’re my friend.
And I love you as
A friend does.
I will drive you away, as I
Have done so many
Countless times before.
How many?
So many.
And I never learn?
You may think that I
Am a good friend, a good person,
But am I
Good enough,
To be your friend?
Honestly,
I haven’t a clue.
