Heartplay Poem by Kelvin Owusu

Heartplay

Rating: 4.0

When I spoke I was told
You felt those feelings
So I held in hope
When you also spoke
These feelings would never get old
This is what I was told

So was I in the bliss of ignorance
To not notice the promises you broke
Broken in love I fell in lie
Never could I fall out of a lie, old
I grew, but the heart never grew cold
I held in hope

Though the pieces you sold
And the money I gave
For the lies I bought
Just so for a little longer
I’d be kept by your side

All in hopes
Of what was once spoke
Would be love
And how it’ll never get old

A poem of uf required love and yearning. Agree with Alexander, the flow needs a little attention.
