Heaven And Earth Shall Pass Away Poem by Leslie Alexis

Heaven And Earth Shall Pass Away

You know, I wish that men would see
that the earth is going before you and me.
Honestly, what is here that we hang onto
In this prison, where devils were sent to?
Scripture says it, and I know it is so
The Earth is going to go, go, go!
What I know is that it would not be water;
The rainbow says that it is a new matter.
Earthquakes, droughts, down economies,
Life passes as if men were flies or bees.
Yet, we fight over this dying land.
Wars, instead of love, we reprimand.
We fight silly wars and make much gust;
Tomorrow we’ll all be the same, dust.
The Noah of the day: son of God, Christ,
Gives life for free, though it was under-priced.
In this time of dying earth and fading day,
Peace of mind you can have – just pray.
Your home in not this dying world,
This prison, if the truth be told.
But home is where he went to prepare for us
A land of calm, peace and quiet seas.
