Heavy Hearts Poem by Randy Squire

Heavy Hearts

Hollow is the heart
That feels empty and alone.
Abandoned and hurt
Turned the heart into stone.
Broken and chipped
But ever longing for that touch
By a gentle hand
That Will love him too much
Soft on the inside
But shows no fear at all
Ready for any battle
But his backs against the wall
He's tired of being broken
Tired of being sad
But he keeps the smile painted
Like its the only thing he had
He wants to hold someday
To simply be only theirs
His candle keeps fading
And it seems that no-one care
He keeps his smile painted
For the whole world to see
He's tired of being tired
His own mind won't let him be
He calls for somebody
But everyone's disappeared
So he waits for the chance
For someone else to appear
He's lost in the darkness
The man with his fake smile
But he continues to move on
Just mile by mile.
He earns for a beauty
To walk by his side
Just him and his smile
With the love he can't hide
A man sits alone
Brewing his own storm
Wishing for a woman
For him to keep warm
