Hell’s Absurdity In Death’s Shadow Poem by Oyekake Satty (O S) Joshua

Hell’s Absurdity In Death’s Shadow

Rating: 5.0

No man desires any sight of hell
But his deeds must follow his lusts
As his desires and passions submit
He must gratify his pleasures a-spiel
An occasion to bask his profundity
A place to celebrate his adroitness
He cogitates routinely hell’s absurdity
And dismisses all warnings with a jeer
Befuddled of time and death’s crawl
And the Lord’s protection yet avails
And accords him time for contrition
Even as he walks atop a rotten bridge
Over death and hell’s ravine unaware
He dons his sins unfurled, unashamedly
Ignorant of God’s duly restraint that
Works to keep his foot from slipping
But the ravages of age daily beckon
And time and death his decline obliges
To welcome him to the hollow of hell
To be awaken at her bosom to a panic
To unveil his folly to his full awareness
To his discovery that hell is no absurdity
