Her Poem by Jay Harris

Her

Rating: 5.0

Tell me where you’re from
Bitter sweet enigma
Moving through the shadows on the edge of the light
Let me look at you with my weary sight

Tell me where you’re from
Your eyes sparkle in the night
Piercing my soul, stripping me bare
Before you I’m exposed
But somehow I just don’t care

Your laugh echoes through my soul
Melting all inside
Softening my worn smile
Relaxing my tired eyes

Your mind, it holds me down
Yet sets me free to wander
Through a wider World, a longer path
In awe of your power and wonder

Tell me where you’re from
Beacon in the night
Let me look into your steady pale light
Take my hand and I’ll carry your soul
Together we’ll escape this blackened hole
