Her Lost Treasure Poem by Almedia Knight-Oliver

Her Lost Treasure

Oh god your world is declining in
Silence and darkness, yet times, my
Mind holds the attention of nature's beauty

Even when stories and words of the
Past, present, and future get more
difficult to search, still I search

I've known dark tunnels and roads of steel.
Slow moving trains, whistling in the bends,
still, I roll into the station with a bright smile.

I marvel the many morning's yellow sunflowers
In distance sky, smile bigger than the sky
before fading into the evening's refulgent colors

Now, left fumbling in the dark.
Where's the switch that turns the light
On my brain's anthology

Oh god…where are You…WHO…?
me…or YouandMe…One?
Your treasured words lost with mine

Now I lay silent in green grass wrapped in
A cold clay blanket to rest in nothingness
to become a lovely flower rotating life>>>

(Seeing a poem in the rapid demise of a friend's mind/memory gives cause to weep for her and my own mortality!)
