Her Salvation Poem by Papillion Hejduk

Her Salvation

Wind whistling in her hair
Tears streaking her face
There is no end to the sorrow that fills
Her soul every waking moment
Walking alone on a deserted road
Miles and miles to go with no end
This is her salvation
Strength from the trees rustling her hair
Her home is the darkness
Her comfort in the steps she takes
Bringing her farther and farther
Away from any human existence
Lights far off in a distance but there’s
No turning back
Tears surrounding her broken heart
She is all alone, and she is fine in
Her home
Her salvation
