Here Comes A Hero Poem by Andrew Leone

Here Comes A Hero

The hero wrapped his gloves,
He said one more bout
Just this one last time,
He goes for one last fight
The hero goes in for the hit
Win or lose, he's got something to prove
He swings with all his might,
He just thinks of her face
He knows he can't give in
No matter hits he takes
Even if all his bones break
He'll go thirty rounds
Give him pain, give him scars
Because he can endure when no one else can
When he takes a knee
He thinks of why he's here
Standing in the corner
His back to the wall
Closes his eyes, taking a deep breath
Sees your smiling face
Hears you say 'There goes my hero'
Ready for the bout...
