Here I Go Again Poem by L C Folks

Here I Go Again

Rating: 4.0

Driving down the same road
more slowly this time
I like to think
I know where the obstacles are
At least the old ones
new ones appear sometimes
unexpected ruts made from someone
driving when the road was soft
after the spring rain
There's a sharp curve 10 km ahead
and the straightaway that comes
before
You can get really lost on it
driving full out
forgetting the bend is
coming up
It's always there though
that part of the road hasn't changed
in forty years
Everyone seems to like it
that way

Life is like that, and love, and emotions, being human and all that. Embrace curves! ! ! In the road of life!

Poems set images I think. And you do that. Yet there goes more to it. For example one could write a paragraph in prose, then chop it up and make these many words that line, and these many words the next line... and rate it a poem. I do not think that is enough. The near total lack of punctuation is also an excuse for ease of writing. The idea is good but I do not think your arrangement of imagery works as well it might.
