Heroic Demons Among Greedy Felons Poem by Devin Deviance

Heroic Demons Among Greedy Felons

Rating: 4.0

I walk tediously across this rope with no tread,
Boundaries appreciated, none exist tonight.
A fall could be fatal; or at least harmful.
To the point of immobility among lions, in my haunt I lay,
Pondering and positioning myself to the point of exhaustion.

With miscreants about, I find myself within a constantly shaky companionship,
Where thieves befriend nobles,
And kings befriend peasants,
With parasites among us, we're all ugly.

Grotesque to the point where air's no longer needed,
To the point where air is not even breathable, but rather,
Conserved.
This greed befuddles me,
I'm confused by the very concept,
And I feel like I sleep above horror, and below satisfaction.
These evils come in multiple shades, shapes and smiles.
Within these walls demons hide,
They lurk and plot,
They harm people whether they like it;
Or not.

Come out, come and play;
You'll soon die of this secret greed anyway.
Conserve your air, and spend yourself.
My friend, come,
And let me be the first to warn you,
Don't hurt yourself.
