Heron Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Heron

Rating: 4.8

There was a heron
Standing beside a goldfish pond
Motionless and quiet
Eyeing darting fish
Streaks of dashing gold.

There was a heron
Who flew away
Slowly on flapping wings
Leaving an empty pond
Carrying goldfish in its belly.

Wonderful poem, sir. It has a great depth to it. Allegories and analogies unwritten, though amazingly expressed. Thank you.

A ' still hunt ' poem. Excellent use of words like ' perched upon ' and beautiful images. Well contemplated and well written.
