Hey Honey Poem by Saucy Elmo

Hey Honey

Hey honey, how have you been these past few months?
I hate to say this but I've been kinda down.
Life's been hell, and it's sad to say I'm not over you yet.
I think this time I'll stand my ground.

Hey honey, don't look at me with those puppy eyes.
Now I can finally see clear.
Words can only get you so far.
Time to act how you really feel.

I've been running around,
Trying to figure you out,
While you sit there with that smirk on your face.
Because you know me better than this,
And know it's you that I'll never replace.

I've been up and down,
Trying to get you to speak.
And all that really got me,
Was a boy afraid of his feelings.
And a heart that's turned cold.

Hey honey, I know you're pretty proud of yourself,
But what did you actually gain?
You lost a girl that loved you,
Look how much she's in pain.
How many times did you say 'I love you'?
And 'I'll never leave'?
No matter how much you beg,
That girl will never be me.

And now it's raining, in this part of town.
Even though I cry, you can't hear a sound.
I know you're with another girl,
Filling her head with things that will never be.
Never again will that girl be me.
