Hidden Treasures Poem by Manonton Dalan

Hidden Treasures

I collected pocketful of coins
some rusted turning gray, dirty
i wipe it off with alcohol wipes
looking pretty i could buy candy
yes i remember when nickle's worth
two wrappers back when am knee-high

i counted at counter; everybody wait
i could have counted nine dollars
enough to buy me lunch and drinks
i must eat this carefully, no drops
slowly i go enjoying taste, so good
tomorrow i will check my tool boxes
