Hidden Widow Poem by Dustn Ashes

Hidden Widow

His life was never simple, and it's hard to explain,
Past the walls, in a forest he would wander the rain,
Grooves that were branded like a scar on his brain,
Felt a little less present like a whisper of pain,
Her life was never simple yet it made him confused,
Why the echo of an angel would be so abused,
Freedom he sought, and freedom she gave him,
And a lover and a solace and a secret she made him,

It feels like a treasure cause our love is so hidden,
It feels like a sin cause our love is forbidden,

Memories of you, they're fraying and fading,
Memories of you, they're always here waiting,
Memories of you I never will forget,
I can't let you go, not completely, not yet...

This life was never simple but as time passed through,
Their senses grew stronger, and their love stayed true,
As pieces of a fate never known came together,
He put a ring on her finger for worse or for better,

It feels like a treasure cause our love is so hidden,
It feels like a sin cause our love is forbidden,

Memories of you, they're fraying and fading,
Memories of you, they're always here waiting,
Memories of you I never will forget,
I can't let you go, not completely, not yet...

This life is never simple, and then you die,
But Anna you're the angel who helped keep him alive,
They never even heard on the day of your grave,
Screams in the forest from of a man you once saved,

And he knows you must remain secret for the better,
But please just know I keep pieces of your sweater,

Memories of you, they're fraying and fading,
Memories of you, they're always here waiting,
Memories of you, the heal and they haunt me,
Memories of you they kill me and taunt me,
Memories of you I never will forget,
I can't let you go, not completely, not yet...
