Hiding Behind Faces Poem by Hannah Cooper

Hiding Behind Faces

Ive gotten use to hiding, going into a shell
Stoping my fears from becoming a living hell
An invisible barrier shielding my heart
Picturing a mask is how I always start

The first i picture is ocean green
Decorated with shells from the sea
Made for the picture of calm
Surely it can't do any harm

The second i see, is turquoise blue
 Decorated with bright silver swirls
This helps with the smile during the day
As well as keeping in things I cannot say

The last is as green as a forest full of life
With little pink roses etched around the side
Like the others it's voice is quiet and kind
Protecting my soul, heart and my mind
