High Summer Poem by Bill Wright

High Summer

Or should that be
'Hi, Summer'?
The sun shines down at last
Over the flat, millpond sea.

Its rays reflect,
They shine and glimmer,
Across the shallows
To the long, flat, shingle beach.

Children love it,
'No school for weeks they cry! ',
The sun's shining, that's all that matters
And Summer is here, at last.

Enjoy it while it lasts. Only two months left here before it starts getting cold again
