कौन गुलाम मोहम्मद?
बताते हैं गार्ड था वो
झंडा बाजार, कराची स्थित
एक हिन्दू मंदिर का
जहां उसकी तैनाती थी.
बन गया वह
दो मोटर साइकिल सवार
हत्यारों की
निर्मम गोलियों का शिकार
और शहीद हो गया.
उसकी माँ और बीवी बच्चे
दहाड़े मार कर रोये होंगे...
किसी और की आँखें भी छलछलाई होंगी?
कह नहीं सकते......पता नहीं.
उसकी मौत का मुआवज़ा
कौन अब देगा भला?
पाकिस्तान सरकार?
या भारत सरकार?
या अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानव अधिकार कमीशन?
या कट्टर हिंदुत्ववादी?
या कट्टर मुसलमान जमातें?
या फिर एमनेस्टी इन्टरनेशनल?
अल्लाह या भगवान?
है कोई जवाब?
कोई है जवाब?
अल्लाह या भगवान? है कोई जवाब? कोई है जवाब? ......koi jabab nehin hai. Wonderful expression. Really it is a heart shaking poem and a great tribute to Ghulam Muhammad.....10

This poem reminded me of today's newspaper headlines on yesterday's clashes at Mathura between Police and land encroachers. Two police officers, Santosh Yadav and Mukul Dwivedi, lost their lives. Mukul's teary-eyed Mom has refused state compensation of Rs.20 Lakhs and said if required, she is ready to give Rs.20 Lakhs to have her son back...No amount of compensation is enough against the loss of a loved one...
