Hindsight... Poem by Alyssa Lippi

Hindsight...

One girl, , one life
even in less then -two- years
all that has changed
not notieceable at the time
but now, , so obvious, ,
her life, her own life
filled
so full
with what?
loving family
happiness
friendships
good memories
hands held
lips kissed
protection
love
, , but also, ,
screaming
fights
lies
tears
abandoment
betrayal
broken home
and an even more broken heart
that she's taped, , glued, , sewed back together
and untill now it never worked
bc now she realized
all she needed, , was him, ,
and bc of him
she smiles
she'll always smile :))

The corners of a flat lined lip connect to a fine mesh line that compassionate puppeteer ever so gently lifts to form a half-hearted smile. When he lets go, the smile does too and returns to its former heavy volatile sad state of wonderment and waiting. Two years, two minutes, two lifetimes ago. Nice poem
