His Eyes Busied Red Poem by jenn davis

His Eyes Busied Red

And today’s the last day he pretends to be okay
As he sits and cries while everyone watches him die.
Losing hope and fading dreams
He watches the sun slowly turn away
The stars that once made his day,
Smiles that said I’ll be okay,
Laughter that filled the air,
Gone with no sign of despair.
And today’s the last day he pretends to be okay,
As he sits and cries while everyone watches him die.
Walking around with his head held low
He’s got little to share and not much to tell
Looking in his eyes you see the signs.
Eyes busied red from the staining tears.
The sparkle his eyes once held
Are but a distant memory
And today’s the last day he pretends to be okay,
As he sits and cries while everyone watches him die.
He runs away
Lays in a field and loses hope
Hands pressed to his head
Those stone cold eyes shut tight so the tears won’t escape.
He yells and screams
Hoping someone will hear.
He took his life that day,
And left the world with nothing to say.
When all a long he pretended to be okay
As he sat and cried while everyone watched him die.
