His Magesty Poem by Adepoju Kolawole

His Magesty

The raft claps of thunder
The joyful tears of rain
The bolstering gleam of the sun
The picturesque shade of the cloud
His audience
The forerunners of creation
A criterion for an automatic invite
to his show
The show of a life time
The most anticipated phenomenon
On world earth
And the mangrove shades are drawn
Lo and behold the revelation of our grand performer
In all his eminence
Eyes glare, mouths gape, noses run
His work tools the word
And Silence breaks loose
An heightened sense of an aura of tense anticipation
Engulfs his opera
His first and only act of the day
And then he spoke
And all doubts were shattered
In the novelty of ingenuity
Through the spectrum of detail
The sub microscopic visual acumen
Never seen before
Conjuring every iota of possibility
Limitless
From dust
Into one being
His master piece
His child
Adam
And there was a roar of applause
The whole earth on a rampage
The ambience of surreal
Too much to take in
But in the midst of the extreme excitement
He stepped forward
And stared into his child’s bright wide glossy eyes
For the first time ever
He saw himself
In the twinkling sparkle of his blink
A reflection of his perfection
Oh! his heart brimmed with joy
A legacy he hoped to keep
A legacy that still stands till today.
