Historia Poem by Alejandro Torres

Historia

Rating: 5.0

If we had a history
Comparable to myth
Which would it be?
Apollo and the Nymph
Hades and Persephone
Or would we be an affair
That lasted beyond us
Maybe we’d be
Ares and Aphrodite
Romeo and Juliet
Or Echo and Narcissus
Or would we be legends
My Darling Companion
Walking the line for eternity
Would you be the Ring of Fire
That lights my way?
Would you be my June?
Or should we talk
Of peace and love
Like Lennon and Ono
Would we have that chance, Darling?
The future is in your hands
Or we could always go down
Like Samson and Delilah
Mr. Todd and Ms. Lovette
Napoleon and Josephine
Or do we play with cosmic antics, Love
And become God
Before Satan
Cosmic dust before planets
Pain before joy
Do we go down as lost
Before eternity grants us
Another entrance
As found
In the pages
Were lines are faded
Were names are missing
Were love and hate
Are thin lines
In the history book
Of love
