This Icon speaks, invites, engulfs and sends
away beyond what shows, to other place,
new horizons of the heart, wellspring of soul.
Draw close. Capture beauty, color, shape.
Follow lines and take the journey away
from self, through him, to her, and back to
truest self, with new eyes, touching inner sighs.

Sighs that long for love that’s in his eyes
for her, for all, for then, for now, and start
to make those lines yourself, point out
towards and lead to him, that he may lead
to truth in all, and open up the freedom
that truth contains and gives, to those
whose hearts are wounded by its touch.

Maternal eyes that reach into the soul
Lovely face admired by adult child
Madonna and the Christ in tender love
Connect and send forth power to find
True self and then let go and seek
beyond fake clay, the inner charm of love,
indescribable beauty of every human heart.
