Hold You Close Poem by Katie McKenzie

Hold You Close

Who’s in favor of dying in love
Who dictates the life that you lead
Who writes the story of the dove
And who is the one that you truly love

Questions are asked
Answers are there
Lingering somewhere

They might be dwelling in the unknown realms of your mind
So dark, so cool
So hard to find

And yet as time passes by
This one fact
Is meant to come to life

People say you will find your true love
One who loves you back of course
But I say I will die before
Before you can love me, for my love is a curse

I only ever hurt the people who get too close to me
Only ever make them see me differently
But as the dawn and dusk fade here
And as the days that passed become clear
It’s only you I want near

So I will die
But only to save your life

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is more about openly admitting things that i have never had the courage to do so before, and therefore this poem isn't in the least intriguing. This poem is about an amazing girl in my life, who i think, has forgotten me, but i wrote this to tell myself that it is for the best. Wish me luck, on the path of love...
