Holding On Poem by Lacey UnKnown

Holding On

They tell me I'm beautiful but I just don't see
What's so different and beautiful about me
When I look in the mirror I don't see beauty
I just see me, living life as a duty
My friends all claim there's no way he can't love me
'What guy wouldn't want you? ' they say
Apparently him, he doesn't want me
No matter how hard I try he won't glance my way
Still they insist I'm beautiful and he's not worth my time
But he's so worth my time he's perfect to me
But why would he be in love with me
He's just so perfect and I'm so... not
He deserves so much better, so why do I try
Why do I do this to myself
Why do I torture myself with such high hopes
I know there's no way he would ever love me
But for some reason I just keep holding on.
