Holidays Poem by Chris Leermakers

Holidays

It's all happening
about to go balistic
it's getting real close now
and maybe a little plastic
I'm approaching the finale
all systems go
tell me, are you coming?
how I want to know
the long road I have travelled
is very far, but few
although I have cancelled
the long awaited due

I'll go anyway
no matter if they stay
for on these special,
beautiful islands
with the perfect day
women all around
unescapable grounds
wearing next to nothing
listening to all the tunes
all the the sounds

Something is better than nothing
Well, isn't that the truth
clothes here,
are a waste of time
where everyone's half naked
Holidays,
about god damn time
yeah, I'm still drinking, that succulent wine...
and some green fairy absinthe
to make sure that I stay
on my correct timeline.
