'Holy Communion' Poem by Trevor Valentine

'Holy Communion'

'Holy Communion'
by Valentine

Then the rain
Changed to snow
Down the avenue
Says the man
I'll take you
To a place I know
It's a plan
He'll feed you caviar
And rose wine
Eating all the time
While he's making love to you
The winter storms can go to hell...

So raise your glass and drink his health
And sip the rose wine
You'll wake up in the morning
But instead of feeling fine
The storm is over
You're won over
No resistance inside.

The lover talks of freedom
And he's gone
Just a sinner, he takes communion
Further on
It's a game that he plays with his rose wine
Magic charms to his cold caviar
It's a lover's collusion,
Holy Communion
Sip the wine...
And he's gone.
