Home Is The Mariner Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Home Is The Mariner

He witnessed sights that tore his soul
and broke his faith in a universe of love

'Ain't no such thing' he said.
'We live and die each alone!
No such thing as universal love! '

The waters rose
and his mates gasped for breath
thrashing about in the throes
of death
