Hometown Hero, Paul Ryan Poem by Michael Peterson

Every town has one, big or small
a role model for all and hero to all
he grew up here from all his life
setting example for us, giving his all
getting help along the way
giving back along the way
Stepping up when it count
without a doubt
some will hate him, some will love him
now he is in the big lights
going to be a big guy in life
heading down the road, to go campaigning for what he thinks is right
first the Senate, now the Vice President
where the road goes who know
one thing I know, he's a hometown hero
win or lose he has hometown folks here
we will take him no matter what
for he is our hometown hero
