Dilantha Gunawardana

Loneliness of labor
Of what is unmasked by veils
To which there is a sole custodian – man

Yet the currency of trust
The glue that seals the convergence of souls
Is threatened to near-extinction
A dodo to contemporary times
Wombed in to the body of what rests
Unspoken and tombed within

A life with an inimitable heartbeat
The drum beats of what is humane
A place of translucidity yet abandoned by man
A dwelling place of loneliness
For what is sacred is the enemy of modernity
Even the soul of truth

A state of what rests immaculate
A crusader of ethical practice
A timeless passenger, perpetuated in time
Mutated by no mutagen
Standing her ground on belligerent soil

Honesty, the spontaneity of thought
On which lies the bastion of the truth
