Hope Poem by Laure Howard

Hope

my life seemd so dark in dispair
I tried to listen deep within but the voices just werent there
I tried to state my case but noone heard my plees
How was I to know that the problem lies in me
my heart was wounded like it was a sore
I saw the open windows but I could not find a door
so my discontent had my heart locked up in chains
I couldn't see a purpose so I had nothing left to gain
I saw a glimmer of what my life could be
and a little ray of hope sparked something inside of me
I started making changes that seemed to clear the way
seemed like something holding the negative at bay
they might be little changes but something had to give
I needed a little hope to have the will to live
so each and every day I pray to God above
I thank him for the hope and I thank him for his love
