what strength we find
in the determination of man!

failure manifest
in the inability to anticipate need;
insight lost
in the blinding light of ego;
and still we seek comfort
in the belief that hope is not lost.

between the light of reason
and the dark of disappointment -
the night its suffocating
accusations and recriminations,
and day its intangible promise
of miracles just beyond our grasp -
we dare dream of truth and beauty
and hearts yet pure, bound by love.
