Hoping Poem by angel lockheart

Hoping

Rating: 5.0

I opened up my heart,
Carefully un-sewing each stitch that held it together,
And showed it to you, cautiously-
Hoping…

Hoping that you wouldn’t hurt me,
Hoping that you’d love me,
Hoping that you’d understand,
Just…

Hoping…

But instead you gave me an evil sneer-
Smirking at how I felt,
And you did everything in a king’s power,
To destroy me,
Crush me,
Murder me…

I don’t know how I’ll recover,
Or even if I ever will,
But…
I’m still hoping…

Now that I see you for what you are,
I think that this will help me move on,
But for now I guess this is…

Goodbye…
