Hot And Light Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Hot And Light

Rating: 2.6

We liked it
we said
hot and light;
each soothing one other;
scheduling
in the dark of night;
hot was hot
still is hot
and light so light;
our laughter rose
ceiling height;
smiles
sing heart songs.

Your applied the heat
and opened
my succulencies
and flames
licked
above our souls
warm enough for lava heat
rich enough for love.

If I take your light
and sample it
will it illuminate
those creasings
where commitment lives?

Or is this un-light?
and will cool our hot night?

Hot and light
sooner or later
needs
a second act.
Don't you think?
