Hot Day On National Day Poem by Abu Abbas Saleh

Hot Day On National Day

This day gotten hotter now
Apocalyptic end upon us
Patience dissolve together along with water
Anger rise together with heat
Monsoon rain with shining hope is just mirage away
Abandon all hope, stop seeking what not absolute
Hey, virtue is long gone bringing compassion down with it
Hunger and thirst clear up my head
Friendly police enforcer, parading all over town
Representative crying in the parliament for people
Something cheerful on the news
Nothing left to fight for
Seem like a utopia state or a state of mind
Reality more cruel and unforgiving than that
Some friends no longer friends
Lovers come and left
Relentless competitors
Parents with high hopes
Unfriendly pedestrian
Foul-mouthed driver
Suicidal motorcyclist
Dysfunctional society
Politician bickering about shirt they wear that day
Sky-rocketing price for essential items
Taxes, subsidies we pay for useless things
Insurance-oriented healthcare
Discriminating quotas education opportunity
Compulsory national service
Conscription, military draft
Military budget for new trendy uniforms and tanks
Defending rocks and trees
Crimes that unimaginable by sane conscious
Wasted youth sinking with hedonism weight
Religious figure declaring crusades, jihad
Fanatics do cross the line, always
Libertarian and Anarchist dethroning kings
Parties with ethnic-aspirated causes
The world we live in is getting older now
This day gotten hotter now
Apocalyptic end upon us
Patience dissolve together along with water
Anger rise together with heat
Monsoon rain with shining hope is just mirage away
Abandon all hope, stop seeking what not absolute
Hey, virtue is long gone bringing compassion down with it
Hunger and thirst clear up my head
I am not sighing nor complaining
I am reminding and enlighting
For a better tomorrow that seem so...
