How Can I Come Out Poem by Ramona Thompson

How Can I Come Out

Dark rewrite of Breathe's hit song, How Can I Fall

Sometimes I feel like you don't even care
That's why I guess I'm so very afraid to share
Would your heart break right now and here
If I were to tell you

I know I could lie to you
I know I could continue to be too scared to face the truth
I wanna make this move
But what do I say

How can I come out
How can I come out
When all the time you tell me
Just how much you hate lesbians and those God awful faggy guys too

All my faith in you is close to gone
Not even sure anymore that I wanna live on
Everyday thinkin' of the harm that to myself I could do
Cos I just can't seem to find a way to say to you
Now I'm on hold on the suicide hotline
I know the choice to voice my secret is mine alone to make
Oh mama, if only you could maybe someday understand
You can't always help what you feel inside
So please just let me tonight say

How can I come out
How can I come out
When all the time you tell me
Just how much you hate lesbians and those God awful faggy guys too

If I follow through
Oh mama, dearest mama
What will you do
Will you hold me close or push me away from you
Tonight, I'm gonna make my move and when I do
I pray that
Never will I doubt again
Like I now do

How can I come out
How can I come out
When all the time you tell me
Just how much you hate lesbians and those God awful faggy guys too

How can I come out
How can I come out
When all the time you tell me
Just how much you hate lesbians and those God awful faggy guys too

How can I come out
How can I come out
When all the time you tell me
Just how much you hate lesbians and those God awful faggy guys too

When all the time you tell me
Just how much you hate lesbians and those God awful faggy guys too

How can I come, I come, I come out
How can I come out to you

How can I come out
How can I come out
When you tell me all the time just how much you hate lesbians
When you tell me all the time just how much you hate lesbians
