How do you sleep at night
when the poor can't eat enough
and are unable to fight
for their rights
against this
unjust world

How do you sleep at night
when the rest of world
starve with hunger
and food is nowhere in site
and no one there to hear their plight

How do you sleep at night
when across the street
from you
a homeless person
shivering to death
and no one there to
cover his body and keep
him warm for rest of the night


How do you talk big
and positive
for yourself
yet, you are so dark and bleak
for others
and it is such a fright

How do you sleep at night
in comfort and luxury
when your tax money
goes into weapons and wars
killing other humans
yet, your life’s delight
depends on other’s misery and plight
How do you sleep every night? ? ?
