How Hot Was Her Decision? Poem by Gamaliel Scipio

How Hot Was Her Decision?

That woman I just met

She couldn't possibly

have known me just yet

However, she has quickly

made up her mind

That a much better suitor

she is sure can find

Then off she went

To find her heaven sent

I saw her five years later

She was looking at me

That look on her face

Says something was coming

And there, she came running

She wanted to apologize

To tell me how sorry

She was, for the decision

She had made

No apologies necessary

I said, because for me

It is 96 degrees

Even in the shade.
