How It Happened Poem by Madeline Fazio

How It Happened

Rating: 4.4

Summer, So full of anticipation
Waiting, For the day is coming near
Arrival, I am relaxed and unaware
Intrigue, I see you sitting in the distance
Speaking, Those first words come unnaturally easy
Friendship, This new bond gives me new meaning
Laughter, You fill my soul with ecstasy
Nervous, You speak so sweetly I fear I’ve become too attached
Blissful, This feeling is so new to me
Displeased, I bear in mind we soon must part
Excited, One more chance to say goodbye
Longing, To be in your presence once more
Lasting, Our bond will be
Forgotten, Will you never be
