How To Be Pardoned From Eternity Poem by Johnathan Stokes

There is a place
neither hell nor heaven
where God sends those
who have dared to create, better than he:
The Philosophers who create confounding ideas
The Composers who create divine sound
The Poets who create immense feeling by way of words,
for they all possess more order,
more structure,
in their many creations
than God could in his only one
and this offends him!

For it is known that God is a jealous God
and so these creators
are pardoned from eternity's chains...
their continued existence would offend his vanity!
