How to begin Dalit literature,
Drona, you made him cut the finger,
The finger of the poor forest boy
As for the royal food and shelter(anna) ,
You made him sacrifice,
Suffer as his expertise
Which he gained marking you
Giving tips to the royal boys?

Drona, you made him cut the thumb
So that he may practise,
Use his expertise,
Isn't it,
Isn't it your partisan outlook,
Isn't, isn't it your biased outlook,
Drona?

Say you, say you, for what did you
Do that,
Trespassing the line
Of the teacher-student morality and ethics,
Say you, say you, Drona,
Haven't, haven't you
Turned into a guilty Brahmin teacher,
Confess you, confess you, Drona?
