How Will I Show You My Face? Poem by Asif Baloch

How Will I Show You My Face?

Rating: 4.1

On the time of judgment day
When there will be no mountains or plains
The earth will turn into pan
And there will be no hiding place
When you will order me to stand on my grave
How will I show you my face?

The message of love and peace
Was put on my shoulders by thee
I failed and I am disgraced
How will I show you my face?

This world created by thee
Filled with fruits, flowers and
Beautiful trees
Was destroyed just because of me
How will I show you my face?

The nymphs sent by thee
A gift of love and purity
For few minutes of pleasure and desire
I murdered every second of humanity
How will I show you my face?

An enjoyable piece; I especially liked the repetition of the line: How will I show you my face? In my opinion, we can only stand before God when we're covered by the righteouness of Christ. Perhaps you would like my poem 'Exit Strategy', which has a similar theme to this poem of yours. Be blessed! -Joe

I gave this one a nine as well. First, I like the message. The use of poetry for good things is worth a reward. Second, I love the repetition end line structure of the stanzas. That is a device I love to see because it contains memory for the reader. GW62

Any sane person will fear judgment day, we have taken what God gave us and destroyed it. The wildlife, nature, ourselves. Well done Asif you have again seen inside the human race for what they are and penned it very well

A delightful poem to read, even though the subject matter is a serious issue. I really like this line, “I murdered every second of humanity”. I hope, though, that you are overstating your case. A lot of “ee” rhymes which help make it more readable, keeping the flowing rhythm without the rhymes becoming too obvious. The rhymes with face and the repetition of “How will I show you my face? ” help keep the main idea in mind. Well done.
