Brendan Nelson the Australian Defence Minister says that the Iraqi invasion was for oil
And the false Government W M D story he has brought to the boil
But from his truthful comments he has since backed away
Though I'm sure P. M. Howard in that had some say.

Brendan Nelson has only said what we've known all along
That the W M D story on Iraq was misleading and wrong
Human blood for Iraqi oil seems a huge price to pay
In war zones many do not die in the natural way.

If it wasn't so serious about it one might smile
John Howard the Prime Minister the one full of guile
For to cling to power use his weapon of fear
His job is at stake at the Federal Election this year

Though he is one whose praises ought not to be sung
For Brendan Nelson a truthful slip of the tongue
To commit Australian troops to Iraq was Johnny Howard's choice
But human blood for crude oil does seem too big a price.
