Human Nature Poem by Nisha K. Janine

Human Nature

When did I forget to walk tall?
Hold my head up
Stand my ground
When did the stench of my pride overwhelm
The sweet aroma of my compassion.
When did my loving nature becoming
The shell that encapsulated me
Like a corpse, decomposing
Letting down the veil of dignity
Nothing left but...
The corrupt form of human nature.
